This is one of the most exotic rafting expeditions in the world.
The expedition on the Zanskar river is completely self supported, and passes through the steep gorges carved out by the river over countless years. The Zanskar gorge has been referred to as the 'Grand Canyon' of Asia by many explorers.
The river is graded as Class IV, and it passes through very remote and difficult to access terrain of Ladakh. The river's water is very cold ( around 7 degrees Celsius ), and cold water gear like wet sutis etc are necessary.
This trip is a combination of the experience of Jeep Safari, Monastery visits, and rafting in one of the most exotic and isolated gorges of the world.
Note: We deliberately keep our expedition Leh to Leh, to give you greater flexibility in terms of exploring more of Leh/Ladakh before and after the expedition. It is recommended that you spend a few days in Leh town prior to the expedition to acclimatizing at 11,000 feet above sea level. You can visit the ancient monasteries, palaces and villages around Leh during that time.
